A church born with the town.
In 1914, a small group of neighbors recognized the need for a Jesus-centered community in the new village of Little Lands — the settlement that would become Tujunga.
Over the century that followed, the congregation grew into a pillar of the community: a place for locals to worship God and do life together with other followers of Jesus. The town changed around us, and we changed with it — including a move, in the 1950s, from our first home to the sanctuary and spire that still mark Tujunga Canyon Boulevard today.
Today we are in a season of transformation — a congregation where longtime members worship alongside young people of color and new neighbors, reinventing ourselves to reach our city and meet its needs more effectively. What hasn't changed is the commitment: to be Christ's hope and hospitality to the people of Sunland-Tujunga.
Founded in Little Lands
A handful of neighbors plant a church in the young utopian colony, meeting at its first home elsewhere in the village.
A new home on the boulevard
The congregation moves to 9901 Tujunga Canyon Blvd, building the mid-century sanctuary and spire that still mark the corner.
The Bailey Center opens
The church launches the Bailey Human Care Center to provide food and necessities for neighbors without adequate resources.
A season of transformation
An increasingly diverse congregation, rethinking what church looks like for the next hundred years in Sunland-Tujunga.
